Leo Has Been Adopted!

Hi! My name is Leo, and I am a super sweet, very goofy and silly, fun-loving, 3 year-old, 50-pound, neutered male Beagle/Shepherd mix! I was surrendered with my best friend Molly (please check her out too!) when our family lost their home and had to give us away. We love each other very much, and would love more than anything to be adopted together, but if we each find separate homes, that would be ok too (mine needs to have another dog in it though!).

My foster parents think I am one of the goofiest, silliest dogs they have ever met! My foster dad chuckles and says I march to the beat of my own drum; often you can find me waddling around wagging my tail and looking at you with a ridiculously silly grin (speaking of waddling....I could stand to lose a couple pounds). I love playing with toys - soft stuffed animal-type squeaky toys are my favorite, though I enjoy tennis balls too!! I also love affection and your attention and really smile huge when I get it!

I'm in a great foster home now with 2 other dogs (plus molly) and 3 cats. I'm very submissive with and respectful to the other dogs and I seem to like the cats a lot, though they're not so keen on my fascination with them! I want to smell them, follow them, and watch them all the time; this might irritate lots of cats, so i either need a home without cats, or one where the cats won't mind my fixation on them.

My foster parents are trying to teach me all the basic stuff...I'm already 100% housebroken (yay for me!) and am starting to learn how to walk nicely on leash, along with basic commands like "sit." I am a very good listener, I pay attention to my foster parents well and I love treats, so my foster mom thinks I could learn a ton if someone spent some time working with me (using positive training strategies, of course!) I love to sleep on couches and in beds, but if that's not ok in your house, you could teach me the places you would prefer me to lounge, I smile a lot and rarely bark, which is a pretty darn nice combo in a dog I think! I'm very healthy, though I have a scratch in my right eye that probably compromises a bit of my sight in that eye. It doesn't bother me though, some old injury I guess, that healed up all right. I am excited to meet my forever family!!

Because of the high rate of accidents between dogs and young children, we rarely adopt out our dogs or puppies into homes with young children.  If you think your particular situation might warrant an exception, please feel free to inquire with us.
