Beau Has Been Adopted!
Hi! My name is Beau, and I am a ridiculously loving, friendly, silly, and sweet, 2 year-old neutered male Flat Coated Retriever!!
I was saved from a high-kill shelter in KY and folks can't get over what a total sweetheart I am. I am super enthusiastic about everything, I think every little thing we do is just the best thing ever! I spend lots of time playing with rope toys and sticks (I am a bit stick obsessed), and making myself as adorable as possible so I can get tummy rubs and kisses and cuddles from my foster mom and dad. I also love going for walks, "retrieving" sticks in the yard, and snuggling on soft things like dog beds, couches, and real beds. I'm a real affection-monster...I like to follow my people around, and am very content to lay down next to you when you are working or watching TV.
I'm terrific with other dogs...I'm very playful if they are playful and would love to be in a home with another friendly dog or to have play dates with other playful dogs. However, if dogs don't want to play and tell me to "get lost," I say "OK, no problem!" I'm also very good with cats...I am a bit curious but completely non-aggressive. I could live very well with cats as far as we can tell.
My foster parents want you to know that I am incredibly well mannered. I don't jump up on people, don't chew on furniture, don't bark much (mostly only when other dogs are barking), and am fully housebroken. I wag my tail when you look at me or talk to me. My foster parents are teaching me some basic commands, and so far I can "sit"and "lay down," and am starting to work on shake and stay. I sleep through the entire night and listen very well. I can entertain myself (though I love it when you want to entertain me!), and am crate trained (though honestly don't need a crate as I am housebroken and non-destructive in the house).
I'm a terrific all-around boy who will make you laugh and make your heart melt all day long. I'm healthy and neutered and waiting for you!
