**May is not a CDR dog and has not been evaluated by CDR. However, she is being fostered in KY by a wonderful rescue worker who is also a close friend of CDR, so we trust everything that she says about May! If you are interested in May, her transport to our region can be arranged easily.***

Hi! My name is May, and I am a super loving, affectionate and sweet 7-8 year old, female Black Lab mix!

I am so thankful to have been saved by Rhonda, the sweetest, nicest rescue lady around. She saw what a gem of a girl I was, and when the dog warden in the overcrowded shelter where I was, said that my time was up, Rhonda got me out and saved my life! I am living in her kennel area next to her house and am happier than I have been in a really long time. She says that she is going to find me a permanent loving home where I can live in the main house with my person or people, and this sounds so wonderful to me that I'm afraid to believe it.

Let me tell you a bit about me...I love attention more than I can say. I have probably not had nearly enough of it in the past, and am just beside myself with happiness when I get it. I love being talked to, being petted, being snuggled, and just being near you. I also love going for walks, and I'm usually quite good on a leash (with a few reminders from time to time).

I am immaculate in my kennel -- I have never had an accident. I get along fine with cats and also with male dogs (as long as they aren't pushy or obnoxious). My foster mom says that I'm kind of like an old woman, with little patience for tom-foolery! So I'm fine with nice male dogs, but I'm not so comfortable with female dogs, especially dominant types, so if my new home has a dog in it already, I need it to be a boy.

My mom says that I'm calm and sweet and lovely and have so much love and joy to give to a nice calm, sweet, and lovely person or people. She thinks I would be a wonderful companion for an older person, or for anyone who leads a mellow lifestyle and wants a devoted companion to keep them company.

If you think you might like to adopt me, please fill out an adoption application and the rescue folks will forward it to my foster mommy Rhonda. Can't wait to meet you!!

Because of the high rate of accidents between dogs and young children, we rarely adopt out our dogs or puppies into homes with young children.  If you think your particular situation might warrant an exception, please feel free to inquire with us.
