Romeo Has Been Adopted!

Hi! My name is Romeo, and I am an amazingly good-natured, sweet, kind, respectful, loving and affectionate, 10 year-old, neutered, male Cocker Spaniel!

I was rescued from a high-kill shelter in KY because I'm such a gosh-darn sweetie! My former family was probably very nice to me (I love people!) but they hadn't taken the best care of me physically. Since I've come into rescue, the nice vets here have given me a full dental makeover, a deep cleaning for my "cocker spaniel ears" (those of you who know cocker spaniels know what I mean!) and have gotten my fur and skin in beauty pageant shape. :) I am a new boy!

I am in a wonderful foster home with 4 other little dogs (a cocker and 3 beagles) and 3 really nice cats. My foster mom says I am "universally perfect" and get along famously with dogs, cats, kids, and adults. I'm a very sweet and easygoing guy, am super content to trot around in the yard, go for short leashed walks, and spend the rest of the time chilling out on a nice dogbed.

And I LOVE the dogpark!! I go almost every day, play with my beloved soccer ball, and see all of my doggy and human friends. You want to know more about my beloved soccer ball? Please don't laugh, but...it's my buddy and constant companion! I love to push it around on the ground, following behind with rapt attention to its every move and I love to lay quietly with it, just kissing (aka licking) it. My foster mom says it's really adorable how loyal I am to my ball, and all the little playful things I do with it crack her up.

In addition to being a lovey-dovey boy with people, dogs, and cats, I am also a dream in the car, and really seem to enjoy going for car rides. My foster mom says I am just super adorable all the time! How sweet is she?

I'm hoping for a wonderful adopter who is looking for a loving and mellow boy to spend their life with. I have so much love to give, I hope you do too! I'm totally housebroken, up to date on shots, and am just a total love to have around. If you think you might like to adopt me, please read about the adoption process today and live EITHER within 30 minutes of Ithaca OR very close to Syracuse, Binghamton, or Owego. We do home visits on every applicant, and can't do home visits where we don't have local volunteers.

Because of the high rate of accidents between dogs and young children, we rarely adopt out our dogs or puppies into homes with young children.  If you think your particular situation might warrant an exception, please feel free to inquire with us.
