Hi! My name is Krista, and I am a super friendly and easygoing, 1 year old, spayed, female Shepherd mix!! I'm all about affection, playful energy, having fun, and getting along with everyone. I am wonderful with people. I love love love getting their attention and affection and care, and am terrific with other dogs (see me playing in the picture?).

I'm in a foster home with 3 boy dogs, and I love them and they all love me! I love stretching my legs, and would love someone who wanted to go on nice long walks or hikes or jogs! I am thoroughly enjoying the huge fenced yard at my foster home, and I also walk very nicely on leash. That is...until I see a bunny rabbit, and then it's "full steam ahead for the bunny!" My foster mom and dad are going to work on that one with me.

I am learning nice house manners (not to jump up on people to say hello, not to take things off kitchen counters), and am doing really well, considering my young age and rascally sense of humor! I learned "sit" almost immediately, and went from being terrified of stairs to running up and down them with a big smile on my face in one evening. Not to toot my own horn, but I am very bright and very eager to learn, and
hoping to be someone's extraordinarily well-loved companion.

I'm healthy and up to date on shots, housebroken, and waiting for you!

If you are interested in adopting me, please fill out an adoption application today and live EITHER within 30 minutes of Ithaca OR very close to Syracuse, Binghamton, or Owego. We do home visits on every applicant, and can't do home visits where we don't have local volunteers.

Because of the high rate of accidents between dogs and young children, we rarely adopt out our dogs or puppies into homes with young children. If you think your particular situation might warrant an exception, please feel free to inquire with us.
